Welcome to Warhammer Online's July newsletter! Call to Arms, WAR's first 'live expansion,' wrapped up last month with the release of the Land of the Dead, but we're just getting started! With WAR's one-year anniversary right around the corner in September, we've got some exciting things in store, including the Wild Hunt live event and it's Event Exclusive Dungeon. We've also annouced the WAR on the Mac - read on for information on how to download the beta version. Keep an eye out next month for the rest of what we have in store for WAR's One-Year Anniversary.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Mac Beta is Here!

Currently scheduled for fall 2009, the beta of the Mac version of WAR will allow existing players to download a client to their Mac computers and play with their live game accounts. Players who don't have an existing live account but are interested in playing WAR on the Mac will be able to participate in the beta version of WAR on Mac by downloading a 10-day trial account. 

Players who participate in the beta event will receive exclusive titles and an in-game trophy - the iPomme - for their characters! 

“The MMORPG audience continues to expand, and that means gamers eager to experience WAR aren’t all playing on a PC," said Jeff Hickman, Executive Producer of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. “We want as many players as possible to experience the glory of Realm vs. Realm combat, and bringing WAR to the Mac makes this an exciting reality.”

WAR for the Mac is made possible using the CiderTM Portability Engine from TransGaming that acts as a "wrapper" around the game software, enabling it to run seamlessly on Intel-based Macs.

The Most Dangerous Game in the Age of Reckoning

This summer, Mythic Entertainment presents you with the opportunity to find out whether you are mighty hunters – or merely prey – with WAR's upcoming live event: The Wild Hunt!

The Elven God of the Hunt has stalked the mortal lands since time immemorial. Year in and year out, the High Elves gather to honor Kurnous with a sacred hunt, where the best of the best try to prove themselves Master Hunters in the eyes of the greatest hunter of them all.

But with the war raging on, the practice has faltered ... and the God of the Hunt is angry. No longer do skillful mortals hunt to feed their families; instead, hardened soldiers scour the woods and meadows of all available game. No longer do hunters observe the sacred rites; they kill only to test their skills, and leave their prey to rot on the battlefields ...

Under the Hunter's Moon

Groups of six players can test their hunting skills against the ultimate quarry in the new instanced dungeon: The Hunter's Vale – the hunting grounds of the Spirit of Kurnous! But the sacred vine portals to the Hunter's Vale are located only in RvR battlefields, where the looming Ghostly Avatar of Kurnous curses all who incur his wrath. If the God of the Hunt lays his Beast Hex upon you, you may have only seconds to pass it on to someone else before his wrath transforms you ... and not for the better.

In addition, players who sight the fabled White Stag for a special experience buff ("The Blessing of Kurnous"), and vie for the honor of slaying Kurnous's sacred deer.

Exclusive New Dungeon!

The Wild Hunt opens up a completely new instanced dungeon: the Hunter's Vale, where the Spirit of Kurnous waits to challenge would-be "master hunters" to the hunt of their lives! Accessed from Elf RvR areas, this new zone is only available for the duration of the Wild Hunt, to six-player groups of all levels. And, inside its twisting maze of forest paths, amid countless dangers borne of fang and claw and nature itself, players can accomplish Wild Hunt tasks and earn great rewards, such as the Fleet Stag Mantle – a sacred cloak that transforms players into a mighty stag, with the ability to travel at the same speed as mounts!

Rewards for Valor and Hatred Alike

The most skillful hunters are rewarded during the Wild Hunt with a special potion and a mystic charm, and those who best the Spirit of Kurnous in his mystical lair will receive a cloak made from the skin of his sacred deer.

Hone your weapons, and sharpen your aim – and, most importantly, offer proper respect to the God of the Hunt! The Wild Hunt has come!

	Scorpion's Shroud - The worshippers of Sokth, the Nehekharan god of assassins, thieves, and scorpions, honored their master in a number of subtle ways. One sign of their devotion was their creation of a Scorpion’s Shroud, a cloak of fine linen that was believed to hide their darkest desires from outsiders and infidels.
	Shroud of Imrathepis - Linens taken from the burial shroud of Prince Imrathepis. Those who wrap the burial shroud about their body are protected from harm regenerating minor wounds and injuries.
	Chompin Teef - Exclusive Steel Jaw Customization option for Orc Choppas - Da best teef! CHOMP!
	Snorri's Spikes - Exclusive Spike Mohawk Customization option for Dwarf Slayers - Brightly orange painted gromril spikes, said to be the same spikes that were driven into the skull of the famous Slayer Snorri Nosebiter!

New Warhammer Card Game From Fantasy Flight Games!

   Ghurlak continued hacking at Bagrash’s twitching body for a full ten seconds before he realized that the Boss was dead. He continued chopping for a full ten seconds more, just for the sheer fun of it, before rounding on the rest of the Orcs in the cavern. They stared at Ghurlak with a mix of shock, bewilderment and fear.

    “MORK SAYS FIGHT!” he howled, brandishing his dripping choppas. “Broken Knife Pass, at first light! ‘Oo’s wiv me?!”

    The mob answered with bloodthirsty howls and the iron clatter of weapons. Bagrash Runtchucka’s severed head seemed to stare incredulously from the cavern floor as the last remnants of his mob finally deserted him.
