The Daemon Moon Rises in the Age of Reckoning

    The Daemonball Rally Public Quest
In the war-torn lands of the Old World, festering like a boil, rests a terrible artifact of the Daemon Moon's first rising in long-ago times. Built of the very stuff of chaos and the essence of nightmares, the Daemon Cradle lies waiting to be awakened, empowered, and brought to bear against the living. Seize the Daemon Cradle and carry it to its nest five times to best your enemies in this new Public Quest!

    Daemon Mask Event Quest!
In Daemon Moon Rising, a fiendish sub-cult of Chaos artificers have summoned savage daemons and bound them into innocuous carnival masks, then smuggled them into the Empire–there to corrupt and possess the hapless fools who wore them! But the masks also found their way into the hands of Dark Elves, the greenskins, and the Chaos tribesmen. Now any farmer, any shopkeeper, any guardsman in either Altdorf or The Inevitable City could turn daemonically violent, literally, at a moment's notice!

Rewards for Valor and Hatred Alike

Into this volatile situation come the players, tasked with collecting the masks and defeating the daemons bound within. For their part in halting the menace of the masks–or delivering them to Altdorf–the players receive a souvenir Daemon Mask, and, ultimately, a special Daemon Moon item drawn randomly from a sack of sinister secrets ... possibly even the rare and powerful Magnus Daemonarium!.

But players would be wise to be wary! For every daemon loot bag might instead temporarily transform an unlucky player into something considerably less likely to survive the Daemon Moon....

    Wake the Dead!
During the rise of the Daemon Moon, players of all Tiers can also participate in the popular High Pass Cemetery Scenario, battling over the bones of long-buried Empire soldiers to capture the two ancient monuments: the Crypt and the Stag. Participate while wearing a Daemon mask to gain event influence–and win the Scenario with 500 points to gain even more!

    Rewards Both Foul and Fair
With the rise of the Daemon Moon, players can receive a variety of twisted, daemonic masks: the sickly image of the Face of the Unborn for completing the Masks of Corruption and Children of the Mask quests or the disturbing Leather Face as a rare reward for winning the Daemonball Rally PQ

If you missed last year’s Witching Night Masks, you’ll have a second chance at picking them up from fallen enemies on the RvR battlefield.

Crafty players may obtain components for Talisman-making, and intrepid players can face the fearsome Bloodthirster of the Chaos Wastes to earn the terrifying Face-Eater's Mask–a ghastly disguise fashioned from the skull of a dead Chaos steed!

Make peace with your gods, and offer up a prayer–for under the cold, dark madness of the Daemon Moon, anything can happen!

    Live Event: Daemon Moon Rising
    When: October 23 - November 1
What: The Daemon Moon Rising Live Event boasts ten tasks ranging from slaying 50 of the most fiendish daemons to completing the "Daemonball Rally" Public Quest. Players can also gain influence by completing a variety of tasks while wearing the dreaded Daemon Masks! There is also one quest chain for each Realm—including Tier-specific versions of each quest so that players of all Ranks can participate!
    Rewards:

BasicFiendfang: Provides a 10% bonus to healing, damage, Renown, and XP for three days.
    AdvancedMeatcleaver's Mask event slot item.
    EliteMalleus Daemonarium event slot item.

    Boss DropMagnus Daemonarium!

A Sneak Peek at WAR Novel #3

Read an Exciting Forged By Chaos

Mythic Entertainment and The Black Library are pleased to bring you a sneek peek at the next WAR novel, Forged By Chaos, the third book in the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning novel series.

The Forces of Destruction wage war upon the civilized lands and the Raven Host is poised to march upon the Empire in an unstoppable tide. To ensure victory against the Order of the Griffon, the power of the Winds of Chaos must be fully unleashed. But to work such awesome magic, the marauder Kormak must dare the Bastion Stair, portal to the Realm of Khorne, and defy the Blood God’s wrath. The warriors of the Raven Host are not the only ones with an interest in harnessing Chaos. Treacherous Dark Elves and brutish Orcs would each seize the power for themselves, while a desperate Imperial army races to deny all of their foes the dread might of Chaos.

Penned by Black Library writer, C.L. Werner, Forged by Chaos will be available in all major bookstores and from the Black Library website this December. For more information, visit The Black Library at www.blacklibrary.com

    Allies of WAR: Warhammer® Invasion™

New Warhammer Card Game From Fantasy Flight Games!

Warhammer Fantasy has been in existence for over two decades. Now, Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the Warhammer: Invasion LCG! Taking place in the war-torn setting of Warhammer Fantasy, players muster their forces, collect vast resources, venture out on perilous –but rewarding- quests, build and develop their kingdom, and lead massive sieges against heavily fortified foes. Designed by Eric M. Lang, award-winning designer of the Call of Cthulhu and A Game of Thrones card games, Warhammer Invasion puts you in charge of an empire seeking to rule all the lands.

Warhammer: Invasion LCG is the card game that pits two players side by side to develop their kingdoms and lay waste to their foes. Each side is comprised of either the forces of Order (Dwarfs, High Elves, and Empire) or the forces of Destruction (Orcs, Chaos, and Dark Elves). Warhammer Invasion gives you a chance to forge the realm the way you always dreamt of. Combine forces of Order however you wish, or forge dark alliances with the powers of Destruction, the choice is yours! Each side must balance their desire for dominance with their struggle for supplies. Every unit brought forth can contribute to your attacking force, your ability to bring in new cards, or to your overall resources. In this desperate battle for glory, how can you afford not to have any of these three?

    Bonus In-Game Items for WAR!

Included in the first print run are two very rare in-game items for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

Though no longer usable to divine the future, Rivenstaff's Deck of Eight still possess an unpredictable enchantment that can boost a random character stat for a period of time at the expense of another.

Have fun hurling the Bottomless Bowl of Custard at your fellow players.

To learn more about the new Warhammer card game, visit the Warhammer: Invasion website.

    Black Library - September newsletter

    The Black Library

    September newsletter

    Greetings!

It's getting rather busy here at the Black Library as we prepare for this year's UK Games Day, the one time of the year when we are all let out into what is apparently called the real world! Our editors and art team are deep in highly technical planning (involves a coin apparently) to decide what new and wondrous things to show off at the event.

Before we get to which delights we have available on pre-order this month, I'm sure you'll all be pleased to hear that we are offering free standard delivery on all orders placed through our website in the run up to Games Day. This offer applies regardless of destination.

So first up for pre-order is Shamanslayer the latest Gotrek and Felix novel by Nathan Long. When Gotrek and Felix travel north to seek the remaining members of the Order of the Fiery Heart. There are rumours of beastmen lurking in the Drakwald, but there is far more to the story than they could have imagined. Fans of the series will not want to miss this book especially as it heralds the return of a certain Dwarf slayer with nails in his head.

Who doesn't like zombies? Well Cadian guardsmen for a start. As they are forced to face legions of Nurgle plague zombies as they battle to reclaim the Imperial shrine world of Kathur in Cadian Blood, part of our Imperial Guard series and the first novel by Aaron Dembski-Bowden. Don't miss our quote the pro interview with Aaron which includes some hints on what he will be up to for BL in the future.

Finally a howling in the night tells us one thing: the Space Wolves are back with Space Wolf: The Second Omnibus by William King and Lee Lightner. It contains the last three novels in the Space Wolf series, Wolfblade, Sons of Fenris and Wolf's honour.

We still have some copies left of our Black Library exclusive hardback edition of the Gaunt' Ghosts The Lost omnibus. This book will only be available while stocks last so don't miss our on your chance to get hold of a copy.

Don't forget, if you want to keep up with the very latest news and rumours from the depths of the Black Library keep an eye on our blog and the Black Library Facebook page. And you can now follow our Twitter updates at twitter.com/blacklibrary
